Everything’s Jake: Swinging jazz of the 1930s

in the style of Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club of France.

In the mid-1970s, two suave brothers, Bryan Cole Darby and Tim Darby formed the swing ensemble “Everything’s Jake”. Bryan’s original compositions, smooth jazzy vocals and hot Django influenced guitar work were supported by Tim’s swinging rhythm guitar. After playing together for about a decade, they went on to explore other genres of music.

They began playing together again a few years ago, drawn by their mutual love of Gypsy Jazz, inspired by the music of Django Reinhardt. They are fortunate to be joined by two talented Portland musicians, James Mason on violin and Russell Gores on bass and vocals.

Be seduced... by the passionate rhythms and lush melodies of Everything's Jake band.

Everything’s Jake was a popular expression in the 1920s and 30s, meaning “everything’s OK.”
